Understanding the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme

How to Apply for Your Mobility Permit
Securing a disability parking permit in Crestwood starts with medical certification from a doctor or specialist. Your healthcare provider completes the medical certificate section of the Mobility Parking Scheme application form, verifying your mobility impairment. This step ensures only genuinely eligible individuals receive permits. If you hold a NSW driver or rider licence, you may also need a fitness-to-drive assessment completed.
Once you have your medical documentation, complete the application form with a recent photo unless exempt. Submit everything through Service NSW either online or in person. The process typically takes several weeks. For detailed guidance on qualification standards and documentation, check out the disability parking qualification guide available in our resources. Standard dimensions are 2.4 meters wide by 5.4 meters long, providing adequate space for wheelchairs and mobility aids. Misusing these spaces carries serious penalties. Parking without a valid permit can result in fines exceeding $550 AUD. Local authorities actively enforce these rules around busy areas like Crestwood Reserve and nearby shopping centres.
