Want it automatic?
The free Parksy app saves your spot by itself when you leave the car and sends lock-screen meter alerts — even with the app closed.
Get the Parksy appHow it works
- Park & tap "Save My Spot". Your phone's GPS position is stored privately in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
- Add a photo or note (optional). "Level 3, Bay 42" beats GPS inside multi-storey car parks. Set a meter timer so you never overstay.
- Walk back with confidence. Open this page again — it shows live distance, a compass arrow pointing at your car, and one-tap walking directions.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I find my parked car without an app?
- Yes. This page works in any mobile browser — tap "Save My Spot" when you park and your GPS location is stored on your phone. When you come back, open the same page and it shows the distance and walking directions to your car. No app download or account needed.
- How do I find my parked car with Google Maps?
- In Google Maps you can tap the blue location dot and choose "Save your parking". It works, but it is easy to forget, gets overwritten, and has no photo, notes or meter timer. A dedicated tool like this one saves your spot with one tap and adds a photo of the bay, a note (e.g. "Level 3, Row B") and a meter-expiry alert.
- Does Apple Maps remember where I parked?
- Apple Maps can mark your parked car automatically, but only if your iPhone is connected to CarPlay or car Bluetooth, and it often misses street parking. This page works on any phone, in any car, including rentals and borrowed cars.
- How accurate is the saved location?
- As accurate as your phone GPS — typically 5 to 20 metres outdoors. We also show the accuracy radius when you save, plus you can attach a photo and a note like the level and bay number for multi-storey car parks where GPS is weak.
- Is my parking location private?
- Yes. Your spot is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) — it is never uploaded to our servers. Only you can see it, unless you explicitly use the Share button to send it to someone.
- What if I parked in an underground or multi-storey car park?
- GPS is unreliable indoors, so save your spot at the entrance before you drive in, or as soon as you walk out to street level. Then add a photo of the nearest pillar sign and a note like "P2, Bay 114" — the photo and note are usually more useful than GPS indoors.
