Parking Made Easy Pty Ltd (Parksy) is committed to protecting the privacy rights of all individuals with whom it deals. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how it is used, how it may be shared, and our commitment to protecting its security. This policy applies to all users of the Parksy website, mobile applications, platform, and related services.
Information Collected
We collect information from the Join, List, and Account areas of the website and mobile apps. The types of personal information that may be collected include: name, address and location details, email address, telephone number, payment and billing details (processed by third-party payment providers), booking and listing details, communications with other users, and feedback, reviews, and opinions about other users or our services. We may also collect technical and usage information such as IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, referral sources, approximate location (from IP or device GPS where you have granted permission), and push notification tokens.
Social Sign-In (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo)
Where you choose to sign in to Parksy using a third-party identity provider such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, or Yahoo, we receive limited profile information from that provider — typically your name, email address, a profile image, and a unique identifier. We use this information solely to create or access your Parksy account. We do not receive your password from the identity provider, and we do not post to, or read from, your social account beyond what is strictly required for sign-in. On mobile devices, Parksy uses the operating system's native authentication services (Android Credential Manager and Apple Sign in with Apple) where available, which authenticate you on-device without exposing your credentials to Parksy or to a web browser. Where you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email address, we receive a private relay address provided by Apple, which we treat as your account identifier without attempting to resolve it to your underlying email.
Contact Import & Find Friends
Parksy's "Find Friends" feature allows you to discover other Parksy members you already know. You may import contacts from four sources: (1) your phone's address book (mobile app only), (2) Google Contacts, (3) Microsoft Outlook Contacts, and (4) Yahoo Contacts. Contact import is always explicitly initiated by you and requires your consent. We request only read access to contacts, and only for the duration of the import.
When you import contacts, email addresses and phone numbers are normalised and converted into cryptographic hashes (HMAC-SHA-256) on our servers before being stored. We do not retain raw email addresses or phone numbers from your contact list. The hashes allow us to match your contacts against existing Parksy members without storing their identifiable details. Contact names are not used for matching and are not retained in our systems. You can delete imported contact data at any time by deleting your Parksy account or by contacting us.
For OAuth-based contact imports (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo), access tokens are used only to fetch your contact list at the moment of import and are discarded immediately afterwards. We do not maintain ongoing access to your Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo account.
Mobile Application & Device Permissions
The Parksy mobile application may request the following device permissions, each of which you can grant or deny at the time of use: access to contacts (for Find Friends, as described above); access to approximate or precise location (to show nearby parking); access to the camera (to capture vehicle or parking images where applicable); access to your photo library (to upload images of parking space listings you create); access to the microphone (to enable voice search for parking locations); and permission to send push notifications. All permissions are optional and the app will continue to function without them, though some features may be limited.
On iOS, where applicable, Parksy will display the App Tracking Transparency prompt and will only enable cross-site or cross-app advertising tracking if you grant permission. You can change your tracking choice at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security — Tracking.
The Parksy Android app uses Google Play Integrity to verify that requests come from a genuine, unmodified installation of the app. This check returns only a verdict (genuine / not genuine) and does not transmit personal data about your device.
Use of Information
Parksy's primary purpose for collecting personal information is to facilitate the discovery, listing, and use of car parking spaces between users. We may use your information to: enable communication between drivers and parking providers, process registrations, listings, and payments, respond to enquiries and support requests, improve and optimise the website and user experience, send service-related communications, send marketing or promotional communications (where permitted by law), and deliver push notifications where you have opted in. Marketing communications will always include an option to opt out. Users may also opt out at any time by contacting us at hi@parksy.com or via account settings. We may use non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form to analyse trends and improve our services.
Shared Information
Personal information is used for internal purposes unless otherwise stated. We may share information with: other users, where necessary to facilitate parking arrangements; payment processors to securely process transactions; technology and hosting providers who assist in operating the platform; identity providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Yahoo) for the purposes of authenticating your sign-in; analytics and marketing providers (see Cookies & Tracking below); and regulators or authorities where required by law. Where the website or app links to third-party websites, Parksy is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Users should review the privacy policies of any third-party websites they visit.
Cookies, Analytics & Tracking Technologies
Parksy uses cookies and similar technologies to improve website functionality, performance, and marketing effectiveness. These may include: essential cookies required for core website functionality; analytics cookies such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand user behaviour and improve services; and advertising and remarketing cookies such as Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Ads, and other platforms to deliver relevant advertising and measure campaign effectiveness. These tools may collect information such as pages visited, actions taken, IP address, device type, and approximate location. Users can control or disable cookies through their browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect website functionality.
GDPR, CCPA & Australian Privacy Act Compliance
Parksy complies with applicable privacy laws, including the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). Depending on your location, you may have rights including: the right to access personal information we hold about you; the right to correct inaccurate information; the right to request deletion of your personal information; the right to restrict or object to certain processing; the right to data portability (GDPR); and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (CCPA/CPRA). Parksy does not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hi@parksy.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
International Data Transfers
Parksy may store or process personal information using cloud or service providers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, the European Union, and Australia. Where this occurs, reasonable steps are taken to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required under GDPR.
Security Commitment
Parksy takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Personal information is stored securely, access is restricted to authorised personnel only, and sensitive identifiers such as imported contact details are stored only in cryptographically hashed form.
Account Deletion
You can delete your Parksy account and associated personal information at any time by: (a) using the "Delete Account" option available within your account settings on the website or mobile app, or (b) emailing hi@parksy.com. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, contact import hashes, push notification tokens, notification preferences, drip mailing subscriptions, saved locations, attribution events, WhatsApp contact records, referral history, active sessions across all devices, and any native app credential state associated with your account. Parking listings you have created may be reassigned to an anonymous account so that active bookings by other users are not disrupted; the listings themselves no longer contain your personal information. Certain information may be retained where legally required, such as transaction records for tax and accounting obligations.
Retention of Information
Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised. Imported contact hashes are retained only while your account is active and are deleted upon account deletion. OAuth access tokens from third-party identity or contact providers are discarded immediately after use and are never retained.
Children's Privacy
Parksy is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hi@parksy.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
Parksy may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon being published on the website. Continued use of the website or mobile app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
