Getting Started
What is Parksy?
Parksy is a trusted parking marketplace that connects drivers looking for affordable parking with property owners who have spare driveways, garages, or car spaces to rent out. Whether you need a spot for your daily commute, long-term storage, or event parking, Parksy makes it easy to find and book secure parking near your destination.
How do I sign up for Parksy?
Signing up is free and takes just seconds. Visit parksy.com and enter your email address, or sign up instantly using Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Facebook. Once registered, you can search for parking, list your space, and contact other members immediately.
Is Parksy free to use?
It is commission FREE for both drivers and parking providers with ZERO markups, meaning we do not increase the parking price or add a margin to earn extra profits. We do not charge any online booking or service fees and pride ourselves on 100% transparency so there are not any hidden costs, fees, or charges. A VIP Membership is available for those who want advanced search filters, parking fine protection, and priority support — and is much less expensive than paying inflated parking prices elsewhere.
What are the membership plans?
Parksy offers three plans: Free — search, list, and contact members at no cost. VIP ($30/month) — advanced search filters, parking fine protection, and priority support. VIP+ ($180/year) — everything in VIP plus a dedicated parking concierge and the best annual savings. All paid plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. All paid memberships come with a 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. If Parksy is not the right fit for you, simply reach out within 30 days and we will refund your membership in full.
Finding & Booking Parking
How do I find parking near me?
Use the search bar at the top of any page to enter an address, suburb, or landmark. Parksy will show you available parking spaces nearby, sorted by distance. You can also browse by city or use the map view to find spaces visually. Filters let you narrow results by price, space type, and features like covered parking or security gates.
How much does it cost to use a parking space?
The cost of using a parking space is entirely up to the parking space owner. Generally, the price of a parking space in the same area may differ due to different features such as proximity to a popular place as well as security and lighting. Prices are displayed on each listing so you can compare before making contact.
How do I contact a parking space owner?
Once you find a listing you like, click the contact button on the listing page to send a message directly to the owner through Parksy's secure messaging system. Many listings also include a phone number for immediate contact. We recommend sending messages to multiple listings to increase your chances of finding the perfect spot quickly.
How many messages should I send and how long will it take?
We recommend sending 8-10 messages and allowing a 7-day turnaround, although it is likely you will receive replies within days. Many listings also contain mobile phone numbers for immediate contact. If your first round of messages does not find the right match, send a second round the following week — there will be more people to choose from. You may also want to consider varying your expectations, such as offering a higher rental amount or longer terms if the space is in a high-demand area.
I sent a message and did not get a response. What should I do?
Sometimes messages can end up in spam or junk folders. If a phone number is available on the listing, try a quick call. Otherwise, contact us at hi@parksy.com and we can help connect you directly with the parking provider. You can also post a "wanted" listing by going to Rent Your Space and selecting "Wanted" as the offer type.
Can I book airport parking through Parksy?
Yes! Parksy has dedicated airport parking pages for hundreds of airports. You can find affordable private parking spaces near your airport, often at a fraction of the cost of on-site airport parking. Search by airport name or browse our airport directory to compare options and prices.
Listing Your Parking Space
How do I list my parking space?
If you have an available driveway or garage, you can list your space for free in just a few minutes. Enter your address, add photos, set your price, and your space will be advertised immediately. You can come back at any time to update your listing details, availability, or pricing from your account dashboard.
Who can share their parking space?
Anyone with a driveway, garage, carport, or car space that is available for any period of time. Whether you have a spare spot during work hours, a garage you do not use, or a driveway near a popular venue, you can earn money by listing it on Parksy.
How much can I earn from sharing my parking space?
Earnings depend on your location, space type, and demand. Some parking spaces earn up to $20 per day for events or festivals. Others earn up to $100 per week for regular commuter parking. That is equivalent to more than $5,000 per year! Spaces near city centres, airports, train stations, and stadiums tend to command the highest prices.
When should I increase or decrease my price?
If you are getting plenty of booking requests, you may want to consider increasing your price. On the other hand, if you are not receiving many enquiries, consider reducing the price. You can also offer different rates for daily, weekly, or monthly rentals to attract more interest.
How do I give the driver the swipe card, remote, or key?
Drivers and hosts can communicate through Parksy's messaging system to arrange the handover of any access devices such as swipe cards, remotes, or keys. Many hosts arrange a brief meeting at the property or use a lockbox for contactless key exchange.
Can I ask for a security deposit?
Yes. You should state this in the description of your listing along with any other terms and conditions. Drivers and hosts can discuss and arrange deposits through Parksy's messaging system.
Safety, Insurance & Legal
What are the car insurance implications of parking in a shared space?
When parking your car, you leave it at your own risk — the same as when you use a commercial parking operator. We recommend checking with your insurance provider if you have any specific concerns about parking in a private driveway or garage.
What are the home insurance implications of sharing my space?
This depends on your insurance policy as they all differ. Most standard home insurance policies cover visitors to your property, but we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your specific coverage before listing your space.
Is it safe to share my parking space with someone I don't know?
Share your parking space only when you feel comfortable. You should always take due care when interacting with others online or in person. We recommend communicating through Parksy's messaging system, asking questions about the driver's needs, and arranging a brief introduction if possible.
Do I have to pay tax on income from renting my parking space?
Parksy advises parking hosts to seek independent, expert advice regarding their personal taxation liability. In most jurisdictions, rental income from parking spaces is considered taxable income. Keep records of your earnings and expenses for tax purposes.
Parking Rules & Fines
How do I appeal a parking fine?
Start by reviewing the fine details carefully to ensure it is valid. Gather supporting evidence such as photos, receipts, or witness statements. Visit the issuing council's or authority's website and follow their instructions to lodge an appeal, usually via an online form or written letter. VIP members get access to sample appeal letter templates and parking fine protection.
Will parking fines go on my driving record?
No. Parking tickets are non-moving violations and typically do not go on your driving record or affect your licence. However, unpaid fines may result in registration issues, additional penalties, or referral to a debt collection agency.
What do different parking signs and road markings mean?
Common signs include No Parking, No Stopping, and time-restricted zones. Yellow lines along the kerb often indicate parking restrictions. "P" signs with a number indicate the maximum time you may park. Always check local signage carefully, as rules vary between councils and jurisdictions.
Is it legal to park in front of someone else's driveway?
Parking in front of a driveway is typically illegal, as it obstructs access for the property owner. Even if the driveway appears unused, blocking it can result in fines or towing. Always ensure your vehicle does not impede access to driveways or other private property entrances.
Can I reserve the parking space outside my house?
On public streets, no individual has an automatic right to the space outside their home. Parking is generally on a first-come, first-served basis unless residential permits or specific restrictions apply. Using objects to reserve public spots is typically prohibited. However, you can rent a private off-street space on Parksy to guarantee a reserved spot.
Account & Support
How do I contact Parksy support?
You can reach us by email at hi@parksy.com. You can also use the chat widget on any page to ask our AI assistant for quick answers. We aim to respond to all support enquiries within 24 hours.
Does Parksy screen the listings?
Parksy is a marketplace platform, so we encourage members to conduct their own due diligence before committing to a booking. We monitor listings for quality, remove inactive or fraudulent listings, and act on all reported concerns immediately. Feedback is sought from members regularly to ensure quality standards are maintained.
How do I edit or delete my listing?
Log in to your Parksy account and navigate to your dashboard. You can edit your listing details, update photos, change pricing, or unpublish your listing at any time. If you need help, contact us at hi@parksy.com.
How do I reset my password?
Visit the password reset page and enter the email address associated with your account. You will receive an email with a link to create a new password. If you signed up using Google, Apple, or another social login, you can use that same method to log in without a password.
Can I refer friends to Parksy?
Yes! Visit the Find Friends page to import your contacts and invite friends to Parksy. You can also share your unique referral link from your account dashboard. Help your friends find great parking while growing the Parksy community.
