NSW Mobility Parking Permits for Roselands Residents
In Roselands, individuals with mobility disabilities can apply for a NSW Mobility Parking Scheme permit. This permit grants access to designated disability parking spaces across the suburb. Two permit types are available: the individual permit (blue card, valid for five years) is for permanent disabilities. The temporary permit (red card, valid for six months) is for conditions affecting mobility, such as injuries or recovery periods. Both options enable access to major locations, including HomeCo Roselands shopping centre and nearby transport hubs. Service NSW and Canterbury-Bankstown Council jointly manage the application process. They ensure that Roselands residents can obtain permits efficiently through streamlined procedures.
Eligibility requires medical documentation confirming that your condition meets Transport NSW guidelines. A doctor or medical specialist must complete the medical certificate section of your application form. First-time applicants and those with significant medical changes may also need a fitness to drive assessment. The application process is straightforward: gather your medical report, complete the form, and then submit it either online or at your nearest Service NSW centre on Roselands Drive or at nearby Canterbury locations. If your disability prevents you from attending in person, you can authorize someone to apply on your behalf with the proper documentation.
Accessing Roselands Disability Parking Locations

Medical Requirements and Application Steps
Obtaining your mobility parking permit in Roselands begins with securing medical certification from your GP or specialist. Your medical report must detail your specific mobility limitation and confirm that you meet Transport NSW eligibility criteria. The medical certificate becomes the foundation of your entire application. Therefore, accuracy and completeness are critical. Depending on your condition (whether it is a permanent disability, a temporary injury, or a progressive illness) your doctor will recommend either an individual or temporary permit. Some applicants may require additional fitness to drive assessments. This is particularly true if medical circumstances have changed significantly or if your previous assessment was over six months ago.
Once you have your medical documentation, submit your application through one of two convenient channels. You can complete the online form via the Service NSW portal, or you can visit a Service NSW office in person. Roselands residents can access Service NSW centres located on Roselands Drive or in nearby Canterbury. Processing typically takes 2-3 weeks. If you cannot attend in person, you can authorize a trusted representative to submit documentation on your behalf. After approval, your disability parking permit will arrive by mail with clear instructions on display and usage. Keep your permit valid by renewing it before expiration. Temporary permits require annual renewal or updating if your medical condition changes.
