Understanding Disability Parking Permits in West Beach
The South Australian government issues two main types of disability parking permits: temporary and permanent. These permits are essential for West Beach residents who need accessible parking due to mobility challenges. Permit holders must display their permit visibly, either hanging from the rearview mirror or placed on the passenger dashboard. Accessible parking bays marked with the blue accessibility symbol are scattered throughout West Beach, near amenities like West Beach Parks and the West Beach Surf Life Saving Club on The Esplanade.
Time limits vary depending on the designated space type. If the signed limit is under 30 minutes, permit holders can park for a maximum of 30 minutes. Between 30 minutes and one hour, you get up to two hours. Longer limits mean double the signed duration. Unauthorized parking in these bays can result in fines up to $165.
