In Malaga, Western Australia, disability parking permits are essential for residents and visitors who face mobility challenges. The standard Disability Parking Permit is valid for a maximum of three years. Temporary permits can be issued for varying durations, depending on medical needs. These permits are administered through the City of Perth, which ensures that applicants meet strict eligibility criteria. The City of Perth recognises both international and interstate permits, allowing for convenience when visiting the area. However, once you arrive in Western Australia, you must apply for a local permit within three months. This is necessary to continue enjoying accessible parking benefits.
It's crucial to understand that these concessions apply only within the City of Perth boundaries. Different local councils may have their own specific rules and regulations. Residents of Malaga should keep copies of their applications and medical certifications for personal records. The permit must be displayed prominently on your dashboard to qualify for concessional rates at designated bays. Non-compliance can result in significant penalties, so understanding the rules is very important.
