Understanding Putney's Parking Fine System
The parking fine landscape in Putney, New South Wales, is governed by specific regulations that aim to ensure fair enforcement practices. Common infractions include overstaying time limits and parking in prohibited areas, particularly around major landmarks and busy commercial areas. Fines can range from $110 to $250 for violations, including parking in disabled bays without a valid permit. Residents should be aware of the penalty types and fines that can occur in areas where parking enforcement is often stricter due to high demand and limited availability.
Under the system implemented by the NSW Government, parking officers are required to leave physical notification of fines directly on vehicles. This helps drivers collect evidence if they wish to dispute their fines. Situations may arise where notifications are not left, such as if the vehicle is in motion or parked in a prescribed parking zone like large car parks near major facilities. For comprehensive details on the fine structure and procedures, residents can refer to the NSW Government parking fine system, which outlines exceptions and appeal processes clearly for Putney drivers.

Payments can be made online, at local banks, or at Service NSW centres throughout the area. If you miss the payment deadline, an additional fee of $25 to $65 applies. Your Rights: Contesting Parking Fines in Putney

This process allows you to present any mitigating circumstances or evidence, particularly if the fine was issued incorrectly due to signage issues or clerical errors. If you remain unsatisfied with the council's decision, you have the right to escalate your case to a tribunal.

The tribunal process provides another layer of recourse if initial appeals fail. Documentation is crucial. Keep photos of parking signs, your fine notice, and any relevant correspondence.
