How Griffith’s timed parking rules affect free stays
Griffith City Council says timed parking areas apply throughout the municipality and that the sign controls how long a vehicle may remain. A 2P sign allows no more than two hours during the times and on the days shown on that sign, without moving the vehicle (griffith.nsw.gov.au). A vehicle moved one or two bays within the area may still be treated as having remained in the timed parking area.
Griffith City Council monitors timed parking randomly and strictly enforces limits to keep spaces available. The council also lists No Parking restrictions, where stopping is limited to two minutes for passenger or goods collection while staying within three metres of the vehicle, and No Stopping restrictions, where stopping is prohibited unless a sign says otherwise. School zones operate from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
