Free Parking at Kogarah Park&Ride and Kogarah Town Square
Kogarah Park&Ride at 2 Railway Street provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day when you complete a valid public transport trip by tapping on and tapping off with an accepted Opal card, or a credit, debit or Opal card linked to a Transport Connect account (wilsonparking.com.au). Kogarah Alternatives When Commuter and Council Parking Fills
Kogarah Park&Ride is the clearest low-cost alternative for a public transport commuter because the site provides up to 18 hours free each day after a valid tapped-on and tapped-off trip (wilsonparking.com.au). The benefit is available at 2 Railway Street and is designed for drivers connecting with public transport, rather than for a non-commuter using the site as an ordinary free car park.
Derby Street Car Park at Kogarah Town Square is the named council alternative for drivers who need a central paid facility after the half-hour free period (georgesriver.nsw.gov.au). Derby Street charges $3 for more than half an hour up to one hour, $5 for one to two hours, $7 for two to three hours, $12 for three to four hours, and $29 for four hours or more in a day.
Derby Street Car Park also charges a $15 overnight flat rate from midnight.
Kogarah Time Limits, Permits and Mobility Concessions
Kogarah Park&Ride makes the 18-hour free period conditional on a completed public transport trip using an accepted Opal card, or a linked credit, debit or Opal card (wilsonparking.com.au). A driver who does not use public transport, or who exceeds 18 hours, moves into the casual parking arrangement at Kogarah Park&Ride.
Derby Street Car Park gives a standard half-hour free period, while Georges River Council's mobility concession extends free parking to two hours per day for Mobility Parking Scheme permit holders (georgesriver.nsw.gov.au). The mobility concession requires pre-arrangement through the ZipBy App and approval by Point Parking, and fees apply after the free period.
Georges River Council lists Derby Street Car Park at Kogarah Town Square as operating from 6.00am to midnight Monday to Sunday.
Kogarah Parking Penalties and Handling an Overstay
Those amounts are car park charges rather than a council penalty notice, so an overstay at Derby Street is handled through the facility's paid parking system.
Kogarah Park&Ride charges casual parking rates when a non-commuter parks there, when a public transport trip is not completed, or when the 18-hour free period is exceeded (wilsonparking.com.au).
Georges River Council directs drivers needing assistance with the mobility free period or ZipBy approval to Point Parking on 1300 55 11 31 or through the council car park support email (georgesriver.nsw.gov.au). A council car park dispute therefore belongs with the operator managing the relevant facility, while a NSW penalty notice follows the payment or review process stated on that notice.
