Permit and meter conditions at Newport Beach
Newport Beach keeps its free parking concession for vehicles displaying a valid Northern Beaches Council parking permit (northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au). The permit requirement belongs specifically to Newport Beach and does not turn every nearby street or public bay into free parking for general visitors.
Newport Beach uses pay-and-display parking for vehicles without the valid permit, and the applicable fees are listed at the meters (northernbeaches.nsw.gov.au). A driver using a permit-based space therefore needs the qualifying permit displayed, while a driver using the paid area needs to follow the meter arrangement at the site. The distinction is between permit-concession parking and metered parking, both specifically identified for Newport Beach.
