Weekend Demand and Low-Cost North Sydney Parking When Free Bays Disappear
Ridge Street car park is most useful for weekend visitors because its free period covers Saturday and Sunday, while weekday users face paid parking or the resident-only 90-minute concession (North Sydney Council). Greenwood Plaza’s free period is designed around visitors to the Blue Street centre, so shopping and appointment peaks can make that option less dependable for longer stays.
North Sydney Council divides its metered locations into High, Medium and Low parking demand areas.

North Sydney Time Limits, Permits and Meter Hours That Control Free Parking

North Sydney Council says daytime metered parking hours are 8:30 am to 6 pm and evening metered hours are 6 pm to midnight, with some meters charging on public holidays. North Sydney Parking Fines, Revenue NSW Payment and Challenges
North Sydney Council states that parking fine amounts are set by legislation administered by the NSW Department of Finance, and directs fine enquiries to Revenue NSW (North Sydney Council). That means an overstay or other parking breach at a North Sydney council location is dealt with under the NSW penalty framework rather than a discretionary local amount. The exact penalty depends on the offence recorded on the notice.
Revenue NSW handles payment of NSW fines. A driver who disputes a notice can use the review or challenge process identified by Revenue NSW on the fine notice. Parking enforcement can apply where a vehicle exceeds a signed time limit, remains in a permit-controlled space without the required entitlement, or breaches a clearway or other signed restriction.
