Free Parking Options Around Dutton Park Streets and Campus
UQ’s Dutton Park campus is not a general free-parking option: students, staff and visitors must pay at all times, including weekends. UQ does identify two exceptions for specific users. Clinic clients can park free when their clinic validates the parking session, while persons with a Disability Parking Permit can use free bays on each level of the Susan Tett Building. Those concessions are not general visitor parking, and staff in the Susan Tett Building have separate fixed or flexible permit options (about.uq.edu.au).
Parksy Parking Near Dutton Park When Street Spaces Are Full
Parksy lists a secure private parking space in Dutton Park 490 metres away for $12 a day. This option suits a driver who needs a reserved daily space close to Dutton Park rather than relying on a short-stay street bay. Parksy also lists a secure lock-up garage in Dutton Park 510 metres away for $260 a month, which is aimed at regular users needing longer-term storage and access.
Across the nearby Woolloongabba area, Parksy lists a driveway space 690 metres away for $2 an hour and a secure covered space 700 metres away for $10 a day. A premium space at 52-64 Annerley Road is 700 metres away and costs $6 an hour, while a secure 24/7 garage 790 metres away costs $13 an hour. The Woolloongabba spaces suit drivers who can walk back to Dutton Park and need a paid fallback when nearby free opportunities are occupied.
Dutton Park Alternatives for Busy Periods and Full Free Parking
Those periods are 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 12 noon on Saturdays. A driver making a longer daytime visit therefore needs either a permitted paid space or a private booking rather than assuming an unrestricted all-day stay (brisbane.qld.gov.au).
UQ’s Dutton Park campus provides no low-cost overflow option for a general visitor because UQ requires students, staff and visitors to pay at all times, including weekends. The campus can still suit a clinic client whose clinic validates the parking session, but that arrangement is tied to the clinic visit. For other drivers, the named Parksy alternatives include Dutton Park parking for $12 a day and Woolloongabba covered parking for $10 a day, giving a clear paid choice when local street parking is full.
Dutton Park Time Limits, Permits and Free-User Exceptions
The rule is attached to those controlled areas, not to every parking space in Dutton Park, so a street’s signs and markings determine whether the space falls within the controlled arrangement (brisbane.qld.gov.au).
UQ applies a separate Dutton Park campus rule: paid parking is enforced at all times. UQ allows free parking for clinic clients only when the clinic validates the parking session, and UQ provides free bays on each level of the Susan Tett Building for persons with a Disability Parking Permit. Staff working in the Susan Tett Building can apply for a fixed or flexible parking permit, but that staff permit is not a general visitor concession (about.uq.edu.au).
