Parking Near East Brisbane
Free Parking Options Around East Brisbane and Lytton Road
East Brisbane’s clearest free option is the Secure Parking car park at 33 Lytton Road, where the operator lists hourly parking from $0 for short stays on weekdays, weekends and public holidays (secureparking.com.au). The site has 24-hour access and suits drivers visiting Mowbray Park Ferry Terminal, Shafston Hotel, Seasons IGA or The Gabba.
The 33 Lytton Road offer is limited to one parking session per day, so a driver cannot carry unused free time into another session at that car park. The operator also lists event parking from $20, meaning the free hourly offer is not the rate to rely on when a Gabba event changes demand (secureparking.com.au).
East Brisbane Time Limits and Gabba Traffic Controls
East Brisbane sits within the Gabba Traffic Area, which also includes streets in Woolloongabba and Kangaroo Point (brisbane.qld.gov.au). Brisbane City Council applies area-wide restrictions and regulations on event days, so an otherwise convenient East Brisbane street can have additional controls when a stadium or entertainment event is under way.
Brisbane City Council’s parking guide says green parking signs specify conditions such as time limits or the days when restrictions apply, while red parking signs indicate prohibitions (brisbane.qld.gov.au). Resident permit parking schemes also operate in parts of Brisbane to manage on-street demand (spatial-brisbane.opendata.arcgis.com).
Gabba Event Days When East Brisbane’s Free Bays Disappear
Gabba sporting and entertainment events are the main pressure point for East Brisbane parking. Brisbane City Council says special event parking limits apply in the Gabba Traffic Area, which covers East Brisbane, and recommends public transport for venue events (brisbane.qld.gov.au). Drivers seeking a free space should expect the strongest demand around event arrivals rather than treating an ordinary weekday pattern as reliable.
When free parking at 33 Lytton Road is unavailable or event pricing applies, the named paid alternative is the same Secure Parking facility, which lists event parking from $20 and 24-hour access (secureparking.com.au).

For a regular commuter, Secure Driveway Parking in East Brisbane is 460 metres away and costs $208 a month. A 24/7 car park in East Brisbane is 500 metres away at $20 an hour, making it suited to short visits when a guaranteed nearby bay matters more than street searching.

East Brisbane Parking Fines, Payment and Review Options
Brisbane City Council can issue multiple parking fines to a vehicle that continuously overstays a timed parking limit under Queensland laws (abc.net.au). A driver who stays beyond a signed East Brisbane limit can therefore receive more than one notice rather than treating the first penalty as the only cost.
Brisbane City Council says failing to pay a parking notice by its due date may result in additional fees. The council’s payment service provides the phone number 1300 012 747 for paying a fine or discussing the notice (brisbane.qld.gov.au). Brisbane’s reported penalty for stopping in a no-stopping zone is $333, according to The Age (theage.com.au).
