Canton parking limits, permits and enforcement hours

Cardiff Council’s long-stay car parks allow parking for as long as needed (cardiff.gov.uk). These rules apply by car-park type, so the short-stay limit does not apply to every council car park.

Canton penalty charge notices and payment routes
Cardiff Council issues a Penalty Charge Notice when a council car park has no valid ticket. Cardiff Council also states that leaving a car without a ticket because a payment machine is faulty can still result in a Penalty Charge Notice, because drivers must use another payment method (cardiff.gov.uk). The rule makes the free 30-minute period conditional on obtaining the required ticket.
Cardiff Council provides MiPermit payment through its app, website or telephone service on 030 0123 6006, and council car parks also accept cash or card at the ticket machine. Cardiff Council directs drivers to its parking and traffic contraventions service for Penalty Charge Notice information and challenges (cardiff.gov.uk).
