Auburn RPZ streets where permits change the parking choice
Auburn’s Restricted Parking Zone program reserves on-street parking for abutting properties and their visitors in designated areas, according to the City of Auburn. Current RPZ locations include the Lea Hill Village neighborhood near Green River College, the West Main Street neighborhood near the Auburn Transit Center, and D Street near West Auburn Senior High School. Some RPZ streets reserve spaces only during posted hours, allowing unrestricted parking at other times.
Free RPZ permits are available to eligible residential property owners, with one permit per vehicle registered to the address up to a maximum of three permits, plus one guest permit. The D Street RPZ covers D Street NW between West Main Street and 3rd Street NW, while the West Main Street and Lea Hill Village areas have their own neighborhood eligibility. These permits are not general free parking: they are for eligible residents and their guests. The City also notes that an RPZ permit does not guarantee an available space.
