Nestled between the famous Bondi Beach and Coogee Beach, this suburb is characterized by its stunning ocean views and vibrant community atmosphere. However, planning a move here requires careful consideration of moving and parking logistics, as the narrow streets such as Clovelly Road and Arden Street can pose challenges for larger vehicles.

By planning ahead and understanding the local parking policies, you can ensure a smoother transition into your new home.
Understanding Clovelly's Parking Restrictions for Moving Day
Moving to Clovelly requires careful planning around local parking rules. Large vehicles over 4.5 tonnes or longer than 7.5 meters face strict bans on residential streets, including busy thoroughfares like Clovelly Road and Arden Street leading toward Clovelly Beach. The Randwick City Council enforces these regulations rigorously to keep streets accessible for residents and emergency services.
When planning your relocation, expect that moving truck restrictions will significantly impact your logistics. Vehicles must fit within designated loading zones near landmarks like the Clovelly Surf Club. Light trucks are usually permitted, but larger vehicles require special authorization from Randwick City Council. Heavy fines up to $200 apply for violations, making advance planning absolutely essential for anyone moving through this beachside suburb.
Securing Your Moving Vehicle Parking Permit
Getting a temporary parking permit for moving in Clovelly involves a straightforward process through the Randwick City Council. You'll need to complete an application form detailing your moving date and vehicle specifications. Documentation should include proof of your relocation date and vehicle details to prevent delays in approval.
The application process typically takes 5-10 business days once submitted. Check the Randwick parking regulations directly to understand current fees and requirements. By submitting your application early, you eliminate last-minute scrambling and can coordinate with local removalists who understand Clovelly's unique parking landscape. This proactive approach transforms moving day from chaotic to controlled.
Navigating Loading Zones and Driveway Rules
Clovelly's loading zones are strategically placed around key locations including the Clovelly Hotel, offering temporary access for removal vehicles and deliveries. Violating time limits costs around $150 in fines, while no-stopping zones along Clovelly Road require careful attention to signage.
Driveway clearance is equally critical when moving through this densely populated area. Never block residential driveways, doing so risks immediate towing and hefty penalties. When planning your move, contact experienced local removalists who understand these specific regulations and can navigate Clovelly's streets safely and legally.
Resident Parking Permits After Your Move

You'll need proof of residency such as a lease agreement or utility bill to qualify for this residential permit benefit.
The application process requires submission online or in person at the council office, with approval typically arriving within 5-10 business days.
