The Seattle Transportation Services online portal lets you complete requests efficiently from home, with many permits available for immediate purchase and renewal. For face-to-face assistance, the Transportation Services office on Mercer Street welcomes walk-ins. Both methods require vehicle registration details and proof of residency or employment. Getting details right the first time prevents rejections and delays.

Tradesperson Permits and Temporary Solutions
Trade permits enable workers to park while performing job-related tasks throughout South Lake Union. Construction crews working near Westlake Avenue need different credentials than electricians serving individual homes. Day permits typically cost $12 to $18 and grant access for one business day. These permits work best for workers completing jobs in single days or short-term projects. Applicants must provide proof of employment and the specific address where work occurs.
Temporary permits offer flexibility that permanent options cannot. Event organizers hosting gatherings at Seattle Center coordinate special parking allocations for attendees. Visitor vouchers serve guests staying with residents. Most buildings allow 2 to 4 vouchers monthly. The City of Seattle transportation permits page lists all temporary options and validity periods. Parking near attractions like the South Lake Union Streetcar station, just 13 meters from many residential blocks, becomes manageable with proper permits.
Visitor Parking and Event Logistics
