Your Rights When a Tow Seems Unjustified

Photograph the parking spot, any signs present (or absent), surrounding conditions, and the date/time. File a written complaint with Mary's Towing within ten days, detailing why the tow was improper. Towing companies must respond to formal disputes, often within two weeks.
Successful disputes result in full fee refunds. Some residents near the Everett Waterfront and Everett Mall have won cases when posted regulations were ambiguous or enforcement was selective. Contact the City of Everett's parking department or consult the Washington state parking dispute resolution guide for formal procedures. You may also qualify for compensation if the towing company violated state regulations: Washington law takes improper vehicle removal seriously. Gather witness statements from anyone present when your vehicle was towed, as these strengthen your case considerably.
