Have you ever received a parking ticket or fine you believe was unjustified? 2 00:00:06,240 --> 00:00:12,040 Well, you're not alone. Many drivers have been in the same situation and have successfully 3 00:00:12,040 --> 00:00:17,020 appealed their fines. In this video I'm going to give you some tips on how to appeal your 4 00:00:17,020 --> 00:00:23,000 car parking fines and increase your chances of winning. The first step is to understand 5 00:00:23,000 --> 00:00:27,960 why you were fined in the first place and what reasons you may have for an appeal. You 6 00:00:27,960 --> 00:00:32,880 should check the penalty notice and make sure that the offence regulation code matches its 7 00:00:32,880 --> 00:00:38,880 title and the make and registration number match your vehicle. You should also check if the parking 8 00:00:38,880 --> 00:00:44,520 signs were visible and where you parked or if they were covered by any structures. Similarly, 9 00:00:44,520 --> 00:00:49,520 you should check if the bay markings were clear and visible in the first place or if there were 10 00:00:49,520 --> 00:00:55,560 any signs of markings that should have been there for the offence you were booked for. If you find 11 00:00:55,560 --> 00:01:01,280 any discrepancies in any of the above areas then you have a strong case for an appeal. You should 12 00:01:01,280 --> 00:01:08,160 gather as much evidence as you can in your defence such as photos, mechanical repair seats or 13 00:01:08,160 --> 00:01:14,320 medical certificates. Also, be sure to act quickly before the payment due date as every reminder 14 00:01:14,320 --> 00:01:20,040 sent to you typically incurs further penalty fees. You can dispute a parking infringement in 15 00:01:20,040 --> 00:01:26,200 writing with an explanation or appeal letter including the supporting evidence.
