Finding reliable, affordable parking spaces in urban areas can be a frustrating experience for Australian drivers. According to recent news article, The average Australian spends 125 days of their life searching for parking. Parksy addresses these common woes by offering a comprehensive platform designed specifically for modern Australian drivers. Whether you're commuting to work, attending events, or simply tired of circling city blocks looking for affordable spots, our community-driven approach transforms how you think about parking. As a team who've experienced these frustrations firsthand, we've built solutions that leverage the sharing economy while providing genuine savings. This guide outlines how our platform connects drivers and space owners while offering tools to protect you from parking fines that cost Australians nearly $1.2 billion annually.
Community Marketplace for Driveway and Garage Parking
The centerpiece of Parksy is our community-driven marketplace that revolutionizes how Australians find parking. This innovative platform connects drivers seeking convenient parking with homeowners who have unused driveways, garages, or car spaces available for rent. Lisa from Brisbane shares her experience that she was spending over $300 monthly on parking near her workplace until she found a driveway just 5 minutes away through Parksy. Now she pays half that amount and never worry about finding a spot. This symbiotic relationship provides drivers with affordable and reliable parking options in high-demand areas while allowing homeowners to earn passive income from their unused spaces. Our marketplace currently lists over 5,000 private parking spaces across Australia's major cities, with options ranging from hourly casual parking to long-term monthly arrangements.

Public Parking Directory of Garage Stations
Beyond private spaces, Parksy offers a comprehensive public parking directory encompassing a wide range of car parks and garage stations across Australia. This searchable database helps drivers quickly find suitable parking options based on location, price, availability, and specific requirements. Our directory includes detailed information about more than 3,000 public parking facilities, updated regularly to ensure accuracy. Users can filter results by hourly rates, height clearances for larger vehicles, disability access, and secure features like CCTV coverage. As parking author Daniel Battaglia notes in his ebook, "With more cars than ever on the roads, and with a shift to electric not changing that, the future of parking looks to be heading in multiple directions." Our directory acknowledges this diversity by including EV charging stations and accessible parking information, ensuring all drivers find appropriate solutions regardless of their specific needs.
Parking Reviews, News and User Forum
Staying informed is crucial for drivers who want to make smart parking decisions. Our blog section features expert reviews of parking facilities, updates on regulatory changes, and practical advice for Australian motorists. According to data from the Australian Disability Parking Scheme, the number of disability parking permits has increased by 60% since 2007, highlighting the growing need for accessible parking information. Our review team physically visits and assesses facilities across the country, documenting everything from security features to payment options. The user discussion forum further enhances this knowledge-sharing ecosystem, creating a vibrant community where members exchange experiences and advice. Popular topics include identifying reliable parking near hospitals, strategies for event parking, and recommendations for secure overnight options in different cities.

Parking Fine Appeals and Help
One of our most valued services is parking fine help, designed to help Australians deal with the financial burden of parking infringements. With parking fines in NSW alone totaling approximately $180 million annually, getting help early matters. VIP members can send us a fine by email, WhatsApp, Messenger or SMS, and a real person reviews the appeal and gives them a follow-up plan, including template letters and tips on spotting errors that can void an infringement. VIP members also get help when they are towed or clamped, after a 30-day wait, plus Price Watch on every search. VIP is a help service and membership, not insurance. This service shows our commitment to complete parking support, addressing not just the search for spaces but also the consequences when things go wrong.
