Understanding the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme
The NSW Mobility Parking Scheme provides essential disability parking permits to individuals in Bell who have temporary or permanent mobility impairments. These permits come in two forms: a blue card for permanent disabilities, valid for five years, or a red card for temporary conditions, lasting up to six months. Issued by Service NSW, these permits unlock access to designated accessible spaces marked throughout Bell and surrounding areas. If you commute via Bell Station to Sydney's Central Station or access local services, these concessions make a real difference to your daily routine.
Eligibility starts with medical certification from a healthcare provider confirming your condition. A medical professional must support your application to ensure only qualified individuals receive permits. You'll need to complete the application form and provide supporting documentation. Keep your contact details updated within 14 days of any changes. Service NSW processes applications efficiently, but proper documentation speeds everything along. The blue and red card system means your permit type matches your actual mobility needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
