Understanding the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme
The NSW Mobility Parking Scheme provides essential disability parking concessions for Green Point residents with mobility impairments. Two permit types exist: the blue card for permanent disabilities, valid five years, and the red card for temporary conditions, valid up to six months. Both unlock access to designated accessible parking spaces closer to vital services like Woy Woy Hospital on Ocean Beach Road and local shopping centres.
Applying for these permits requires a medical report from your healthcare provider confirming eligibility. You can submit applications online or in person at Service NSW offices. The process ensures genuine need while protecting accessible bays for those who require them most. Misuse of permits carries penalties up to $550, so displaying your permit correctly matters significantly.
Getting Your Green Point Disability Parking Permit
The application process starts with obtaining medical certification confirming your mobility impairment. Your doctor completes the medical certificate section of the form, available at local Service NSW centres or downloadable online. This documentation is essential and non-negotiable for approval.
Once certified, submit your application either online or at your nearest Service NSW office. If visiting proves difficult due to your condition, you may qualify for a photo exemption.
