Understanding NSW Mobility Parking Permits
If you live in Robertson and have a mobility impairment, the NSW Mobility Parking Scheme offers two permit types. The blue card suits permanent disabilities and lasts five years. The red card is temporary, valid up to six months for injuries like fractures. Both grant access to disability parking spaces across New South Wales.
Service NSW handles all applications. You can apply online, download forms, or visit a service centre in person. A qualified health professional must complete your medical certificate. Documentation matters here. Get it right the first time. For complete details on eligibility and the application process, check the NSW mobility parking permits page.
Application Steps for Robertson Residents
Getting your permit involves several clear steps. First, obtain a medical report from your doctor confirming eligibility. Your GP fills this out on the official form. If you hold a NSW driver's license, ask your doctor about fitness-to-drive assessments. First-time applicants often need these. Understanding these requirements smooths out the process for securing eligible parking permits.
Next, gather your documentation and submit your application. You'll typically need a photo unless you qualify for exemption. The approval process usually takes a few weeks. Once approved, your permit arrives by mail. Display it clearly on your windscreen every time you use designated accessible bays. Misuse carries fines up to $550, so always follow the rules.

Displaying your permit correctly prevents unnecessary issues. Ensure the card faces outward on your dashboard. Don't lend your permit to others. It's personal and non-transferable.
