The Coffs Harbour City Council is committed to enhancing accessibility throughout the area. This includes popular spots such as Sandy Beach Park and the nearby cafes along Sandy Beach Drive. Disabled parking permits are essential for both residents and visitors. Understanding the Mobility Parking Scheme
Sandy Beach residents with disabilities can access the Mobility Parking Scheme. This scheme provides two types of permits for eligible individuals. The blue individual permit lasts five years for those with permanent conditions. In contrast, the red temporary permit covers short-term disabilities for up to six months. Conditions that substantially limit movement qualify for permanent permits. Recovery from surgery typically qualifies individuals for temporary permits.
The scheme operates across Sandy Beach and its surrounding areas. Permit holders enjoy free parking in metered and ticket zones throughout the region. Correctly displaying your permit in the vehicle is essential for accessing designated spaces. However, keep in mind that private car park concessions do not apply to privately operated facilities. For detailed guidelines on where your permit is valid, consult the NSW Government mobility parking resource.

Applying for a disability parking permit in Sandy Beach is straightforward and accessible. You'll need to determine whether you require a permanent or temporary permit based on the duration of your condition. Applications can be submitted online through Service NSW, at a service centre, or by downloading a form to mail.
