This certification forms the backbone of your eligibility assessment. Once secured, submit your forms directly to Yarra Ranges Council along with all required documentation. Many residents find the process smooth when they prepare their paperwork in advance. For comprehensive details on permit types and conditions, consult the Transport Victoria accessible parking guide.

Legal Requirements and Parking Bay Standards in Everton
Everton's accessible parking bays must meet strict dimensional standards set by Victorian transport authorities. A standard bay requires minimum dimensions of 2.4 meters wide and 5.4 meters long. These measurements ensure safe wheelchair access and provide adequate vehicle maneuvering space. They aren't arbitrary; instead, they're designed for safety and dignity. Unauthorized parking in these bays carries penalties of up to $400 AUD. Council officers regularly enforce these rules by patrolling busy areas. High-traffic zones, such as those near Everton Plaza and the train station, receive particular attention from parking enforcement teams.
Compliance protects everyone in the community and ensures genuine accessibility for those who need it most. Enforcement occurs year-round, with officers checking permits and monitoring bay usage near commercial precincts and public facilities. If you're caught misusing an accessible bay without a valid permit, you can expect significant fines and potential vehicle towing. The rules exist because accessible parking is a genuine need, not just a convenience. Understanding these parking regulations helps you stay compliant while using Everton's network of accessible spaces responsibly.
