Getting Your Accessible Parking Permit in Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill residents with mobility limitations can access disability parking permits at no cost through ServiceOntario. The process is straightforward and designed to support those who need closer proximity to essential services. To obtain the permit, you'll need medical documentation from your healthcare practitioner. This documentation should confirm your mobility challenges, which may include wheelchair use, severe arthritis, or other qualifying conditions.
After your healthcare provider completes the medical certification form, submit your application to ServiceOntario. The permit is issued to you personally, not to a specific vehicle. Therefore, you can use it in any car as long as you are present. Always display your permit clearly on the dashboard or sun visor to avoid fines, which can reach up to $5,000.
