Understanding Disability Parking Permits in Sutton
In Sutton, Quebec, obtaining a disability parking permit starts with understanding what options are available. There are two main permit types: the standard disability permit for ongoing use and the visitor permit for short-term needs. The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) issues all permits. Their validity periods range from one to five years, depending on your medical assessment. Residents should be well-informed about these rules.
The application process requires a medical certification from your healthcare provider. This certification must confirm your mobility impairment. You will submit this documentation to SAAQ either online or at their local office, paying approximately $30 CAD. All permits display the international wheelchair symbol, which ensures recognition across Quebec municipalities. Visitors from other provinces benefit from mutual permit recognition. This means their home permits work seamlessly in Sutton. For official guidance, visit the SAAQ accessible parking permit page. There, you can understand eligibility and required documentation thoroughly.

Remember that permits are issued to individuals, not vehicles. They must be clearly displayed in whichever car you are using.
