Understanding Blue Badge Eligibility in Andover
In Andover, the Blue Badge disabled parking permit provides essential support for individuals with mobility challenges. This permit allows holders to park in designated disabled parking bays, offering greater accessibility near their destinations. To qualify, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria established by Test Valley Borough Council, the local authority overseeing Andover.
Children aged two or older receiving the higher rate of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) automatically qualify. Additionally, those registered blind or scoring a certain number of points under the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) also meet the criteria. The Blue Badge is linked to the individual rather than a vehicle, making it usable in any car they travel in. This flexibility ensures that whether you're being driven by family or using a different vehicle, your permit remains valid.
