Understanding the Blue Badge Scheme in Newbury
In Newbury, the Blue Badge scheme offers essential support to individuals with disabilities, allowing them to park closer to their destinations. This scheme is governed by the Department for Transport and overseen by West Berkshire Council, the local authority responsible for managing accessible parking across the town. Blue Badge holders enjoy up to three hours of free parking in council-operated car parks, excluding the Newbury Kennet Centre Multi-Storey and Northbrook Multi-Storey Car Parks. For longer stays, drivers can purchase additional parking time to extend their visit without penalty.
