Understanding Disability Parking Permits
In Cherrywood, a Disabled Person's Parking Permit opens doors to designated accessible bays across Dublin. These permits are issued by Dublin City Council and partner organizations like the Irish Wheelchair Association, valid for three years before renewal. The wider parking bays are specifically designed to give you extra space for wheelchair access, ramps, and safe vehicle entry.
Getting your permit starts with medical certification from your GP. Your doctor must document mobility challenges relevant to your disability. Once approved, you'll receive a physical permit to display on your dashboard. The entire process typically takes 4–6 weeks. For those visiting St. Columcille's Hospital or Mater Private Network nearby, these permits are essential for accessing vital healthcare services without added stress.
