Understanding Flatbush Disability Parking Regulations
Flatbush enforces strict disability parking regulations to ensure fair access for permit holders. Unauthorized use of a disability permit carries hefty fines, up to $150 per violation. The NYC PPPD is valid for on-street spaces citywide, while state permits work only in designated off-street lots. Spaces near major institutions like Brooklyn College on Hillel Place and Kings County Hospital are monitored regularly by parking enforcement officers.
Compliance is essential. Never park in a disability space without a valid, visible permit displayed on your dashboard. Fake or expired permits invite serious penalties and criminal charges.
