Busy Garneau visits and lower-cost Edmonton parking choices
Garneau’s free curb spaces are most difficult to find during school-day pickup and drop-off periods because Edmonton lists no-parking controls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days in the zone. The Garneau Theatre also describes nearby residential parking as limited, so theatre visits can put extra pressure on the surrounding streets (edmonton.ca; metrocinema.org).
Those zones are enforced Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to CBC. Drivers looking for a cheaper alternative than hourly parking can use the $3.67-an-hour covered garage or the $4.74-an-hour Varscona Parkade listed nearby.
