Parking Near Northlands
Free parking at Northlands and the Edmonton EXPO Centre
Northlands offered free parking at select parking lots on Wednesday, June 17, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m (northlands.com). This was a specific public offer rather than a standing daily free-parking rule, so the named Northlands lots and the stated date and hours define the offer.
Northlands also had a proposed split between paid and free stalls for LRT park-and-ride use, with 13 per cent of stalls described as paid (edmontonjournal.com). The proposal concerns Northlands parking spaces used for LRT park and ride, not a general promise that every Northlands stall is free for visitors.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre option is a priced Parksy space 120 metres from Northlands, charging $2 an hour. Its short walking distance suits a driver who wants to stay close to the venue after the free Northlands offer has filled.
A second Parksy option in Edmonton, T5B 2J2, is 310 metres away and costs $5 a day. A covered secure valet garage space is 380 metres away at $3.15 an hour, giving drivers a nearby paid choice when a short visit needs a more protected space.

Northlands free-parking rules and Edmonton residential zones
Northlands free parking tied to the June 17 public offer applied from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at select Northlands lots (northlands.com). The offer identifies a date and a daily window, so drivers using those lots must treat the stated period as the applicable free period rather than a general Northlands schedule.
Edmonton residential parking zones are enforced Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m (cbc.ca). Outside those enforcement hours, the cited Edmonton residential-zone restrictions do not apply, but the rule belongs to the designated residential zones and not to every Northlands street.
Northlands LRT parking when event demand uses the free stalls
Northlands parking demand can change when the site is used for LRT park and ride, because administration proposed an equal split between paid and free parking stalls (edmontonjournal.com). The proposal makes Northlands a less predictable choice for a driver arriving for a busy event or commuter period than the headline free-stall figure suggests.
The lowest named paid alternatives near Northlands are the Edmonton EXPO Centre space at $2 an hour and the T5B 2J2 space at $5 a day. The T5B 2J2 option is the cheaper named choice for a full day, while the Edmonton EXPO Centre space keeps the walk to 120 metres.
