Parking Near Kelowna
Kelowna Residential Zones Still Impose One- or Two-Hour Limits
Kelowna has six residential parking zones, and on-street parking in those zones has one-hour or two-hour limits (kelowna.ca). A space inside a residential zone therefore remains free only within the posted time allowance, rather than becoming unrestricted parking.
Residential and visitor permits allow parking for up to 24 hours in Kelowna residential parking zones (kelowna.ca). That 24-hour allowance belongs to vehicles using the applicable residential or visitor permit, so it is not a free option for an unpermitted visitor. The zone designation and the sign beside the space determine whether the one-hour or two-hour limit applies.
Downtown Kelowna Parking Alternatives When Free Spaces Fill
Kelowna drivers looking beyond free downtown spaces can use Kelowna International Airport parking, where the long-term lot charges $2.25 for the first hour, $3.50 for every additional hour, and has a $17.50 daily maximum (ylw.kelowna.ca). The airport also lists an $88 weekly rate, making the long-term lot a named paid alternative for longer stays.
Okanagan College’s Kelowna parking charges $8 for a day permit until 5pm and $4 for evening parking from 5 to 12 (okanagancollege.ca). The college site also lists a 10-use daytime FlexPass for $57 and a 10-use evening FlexPass for $29. These are paid site-specific alternatives, not general downtown free parking.
