Port Moody’s three-hour residential rule controls many free street spaces
Port Moody’s residential-property rule limits a motor vehicle parked adjacent to another person’s residential property to three hours between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday (portmoody.ca). The rule applies to the vehicle and the residential-property location, so a driver seeking a free street stay cannot treat a short-term residential space as an unrestricted all-day option.
Port Moody’s pay-parking page also states that parking fees do not apply to vehicles displaying a valid accessible parking permit or a valid Freedom of the City parking pass (portmoody.ca). The exemption belongs to vehicles displaying one of those valid permits or passes, rather than to general visitors.

Port Moody parking fines rise after the 30-day payment window
Port Moody states that fines for the parking infractions covered by its notice were $25 when paid within 30 days and $50 when paid after 30 days (portmoody.ca). The amount therefore depends on how quickly the notice is paid, not simply on the length of the overstay. A driver who exceeds the applicable residential or paid-parking requirement can face the municipal infraction process.
The provincial violation-ticket service separately provides payment by phone at 1 888 343-2240 or 604 661-2240 and accepts cash, bank draft, or debit card for provincial tickets (gov.bc.ca). A Port Moody municipal parking fine and a provincial violation ticket are separate processes, so the notice type determines the applicable payment route.
