Free Street and Lot Parking in Downtown Sidney
The Town of Sidney offers free parking on streets and in public lots, giving drivers several options around the downtown area (sidney.ca). Downtown street parking is free on weekends, and four public lots also provide free parking (Times Colonist). The public-lot page identifies downtown parking limits of one, two, three, or twenty-four hours, so the space’s posted limit determines how long a free visit can last.
Short visits can use Sidney’s limited short-term spaces, including bays marked for five or ten minutes (sidney.ca). Residential streets generally allow up to twenty-four hours unless signs state otherwise, while parking on Third Street is subject to a three-hour limit from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday under the residential parking pilot (sidney.ca; boringnews.ca). These spaces are free for general users only where signs do not reserve them for a particular permit group.
