Parking Near London
Free parking at Old East Village Lots and London Sunday meters
Old East Village Lots #1 and #2 offer free parking from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., giving drivers a named municipal option near the neighbourhood’s shops and services (london.ca). Overnight parking at Old East Village Lots #1 and #2 runs from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., so the free daytime period does not cover the overnight hours.
Downtown London’s on-street metered parking is free all day on Sundays, making Sunday the clearest city-centre option for avoiding a meter charge (downtownlondon.ca). The Sunday concession applies to downtown on-street metered spaces, while London has 40 downtown parking lots in addition to its street spaces.
London time limits, overnight restrictions and permit-only spaces
London’s free Old East Village Lots #1 and #2 remain free only during their published 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. period, while overnight parking at those lots is governed separately from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m (london.ca). Downtown London’s Sunday meter concession applies all day on Sundays, but it does not turn a metered space into an unrestricted space on other days (downtownlondon.ca).
London residential streets have parking restrictions, including a winter overnight ban intended to leave roads clear for snow removal (cbc.ca). A space reserved for a resident permit holder is not a general free-parking option.
London parking choices when Old East Village and Sunday spaces fill
Downtown London has 40 parking lots besides its street spaces, so a full Sunday meter row does not mean that every nearby option is occupied (downtownlondon.ca). Municipal parking promotions can also make selected London lots free for limited periods, but the City of London announces those programmes separately rather than establishing a permanent city-wide free period (london.ca).
Impark lists monthly parking at 135-151 York Street for $95 for random parking 24/7, or $150 for random parking Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m (impark.com).
Parksy parking near central London for full free spaces
Parksy lists secure covered parking in London, Ontario, 80 metres away, at $5 an hour, suited to drivers who want close, weather-protected parking when free spaces are unavailable. A lighted lot with a disabled bay is 170 metres away at $3 an hour, giving drivers who need an accessible bay a nearby priced option.
Parksy also lists a central London lot 260 metres away at $3 an hour and another lot 260 metres away at $5 an hour. A secure parking lot 280 metres away costs $5 an hour, while an outdoor lot 310 metres away costs $150 a month and suits longer-term parking rather than a short visit.
London parking tickets, payment and screening deadlines
London parking tickets use the City’s penalty-notice system, with municipal parking fines ranging from $30 to $100 depending on the location of the infraction (cbc.ca). A parking ticket can be paid or challenged through a screening request, and London gives the recipient 15 days to choose payment or screening (london.ca).
The reported municipal range of $30 to $100 is separate from private operator charges, so the issuing authority determines which payment or review route applies.
