Niagara Falls Rules That Can End a Free Parking Stay
Niagara Falls prohibits parking on city streets from 2:00 am to 6:00 am year-round. Residents may request up to seven days of street parking per calendar year, per residence, under the city’s overnight-parking rule (niagarafalls.ca). The overnight allowance is a resident request, not a general free-parking entitlement for visitors.
A valid accessible parking permit allows parking in Niagara Falls municipal parking lots for free up to the maximum time allowed (niagarafalls.ca). Niagara Falls parking regulations also direct drivers to read the parking meter for the applicable rate, time limit, and operation, while the traffic by-law sets permitted parking periods and days for regulated spaces (niagarafalls.ca; niagararegion.ca). Free parking therefore depends on the specific lot, street, permit status, and posted maximum time.
Niagara Falls Parking Penalties and Ticket Payment
Niagara Falls lists a $300 fine for parking in an accessible parking space without the required entitlement (niagarafalls.ca). An expired meter is reported locally as an average $25 ticket, while some areas introduced a reduced $15 fine (niagarafallsreview.ca).
Niagara Falls sends a Notice of Outstanding Penalty to the vehicle’s registered owner when a parking ticket is not paid by its due date (niagarafalls.ca). The city’s parking-ticket process provides the route for paying a ticket, while the city’s enforcement process provides the route for disputing one.
