The Parksy driveway space near Bishops Castle in Montgomery
A priced Parksy option is a convenient parking space in Montgomery, Powys, 3.8 miles from Bishops Castle, costing £12 a day. The space is a practical choice for a driver who wants to reserve parking rather than search for a free bay in Bishops Castle.
The Montgomery space suits a planned visit, a longer stay or a driver who needs a guaranteed place when the free car parks are full. Its daily price makes the cost clear before booking, while the 3.8-mile distance places it outside the town centre rather than among Bishops Castle’s own public car parks. Drivers choosing this option should allow for the journey between Montgomery and Bishops Castle after leaving the vehicle.
Finding a space when Bishops Castle car parks are busy
Bishops Castle’s free public parking can be especially useful when visiting the Town Hall, because the venue says there is no parking at the building itself. Church Street and Harley Jenkins are the named council car parks that provide free parking, while the Town Hall identifies free public car parks and on-street parking within walking distance (bishopscastletownhall.co.uk). A driver arriving for a busy town-centre visit can therefore look beyond the venue frontage and use those nearby public options.
Bishops Castle street restrictions and Blue Badge proposals
Shropshire Council’s Bishop’s Castle consultation proposed two lengths of double-yellow-line, no-waiting-at-any-time restriction on Salop Street near its junction with Station Road. The proposed southern-side length was 36 metres towards the Three Tuns Brewery, while the proposed northern-side length was 54 metres towards the existing limited-waiting restriction. The consultation described these as proposed changes rather than established parking rules (getinvolved.shropshire.gov.uk).
The same consultation proposed three dedicated disabled parking bays in the centre of Bishops Castle, at Market Square, High Street and Church Street. The proposed locations included Market Square outside numbers 9 and 11, High Street outside the Town Hall near numbers 35 to 37, and Church Street outside the Pharmacy. Shropshire Council’s consultation said the bays were intended to improve access and parking provision for registered Blue Badge holders, so they were not general free spaces for every driver (getinvolved.shropshire.gov.uk).
