Free Parking at Congleton War Memorial Hospital and Local Shopping Centres

Congleton War Memorial Hospital provides free parking for patients, visitors and staff, with disabled spaces for Blue Badge holders (East Cheshire NHS Trust). The free provision applies to hospital users, and the disabled spaces are specifically provided for Blue Badge holders.

Barn Road and West Heath shopping centres are privately managed locations offering free parking as alternatives to Congleton town centre (Congleton Town Council). These spaces are intended for customers using the shopping centres, not as unrestricted commuter parking.

Congleton Parking Rules for Sundays, Blue Badges and Proposed Town-Centre Changes

Congleton Town Council records Sunday parking as free on council-managed car parks (Congleton Town Council). The same council source says Blue Badge holders can park free on council-managed car parks for an unlimited period. The concession belongs to Blue Badge holders, so it is not a general free-parking rule for other drivers.

Cheshire East Council proposed changing Congleton's charged period from 9am-5pm to 8am-6pm, but the source presents those hours as a proposal rather than an established rule (Congleton Town Council). The proposal also included introducing charges at Roe Street car park, removing long-stay day tickets from Chapel Street and Princess Street car parks, and reducing town-centre on-street parking to 30 minutes. Those changes should not be treated as existing restrictions unless signs and current council information implement them.

Parksy Parking Near Congleton War Memorial Hospital

A priced Parksy space at Congleton War Memorial Hospital is 0.6 miles away and costs £1.10 an hour. Its hospital location makes it a nearby paid option for a driver visiting the hospital when the hospital's free provision is unavailable or unsuitable. The listing describes the space as convenient parking at the hospital, so the named location is Congleton War Memorial Hospital rather than a town-centre street.

Other priced Parksy spaces are farther from Congleton: Biddulph Health Centre in Staffordshire is 3.6 miles away at £4.30 a day; Chimney House Hotel in Sandbach is 5.7 miles away at £2.92 an hour; Park Villa in Macclesfield is 6.8 miles away at £5 a day; Greenfield Centre in Stoke-on-Trent is 6.8 miles away at £0.72 an hour; and a further Macclesfield space is 7.1 miles away at £2.50 an hour. These named spaces provide paid alternatives when a free Congleton space is not available.

Congleton Alternatives When Town-Centre Free Parking Is Unavailable

Congleton's privately managed Barn Road and West Heath shopping centres offer free parking as alternatives to town-centre parking (Congleton Town Council). Their free provision is connected to those shopping centres, so the locations suit drivers visiting the relevant retail areas rather than people seeking an unrestricted all-day town-centre space.

Congleton Town Council proposed keeping long-stay day-ticket options at Chapel Street and Princess Street, but that was part of its response to proposed changes, not confirmation of a current tariff.
