Parking Near Daventry
Free council car parks across Daventry town centre
Daventry town-centre public car parks provide free parking within the time restrictions displayed on their signs (westnorthants.gov.uk). The council lists short-stay locations with maximum stays of 3 hours, 1½ hours or 30 minutes, alongside long-stay car parks offering all-day parking. This gives shoppers and visitors a choice between a quick town-centre visit and a longer stay without a parking charge.
The council records 24-hour opening for many Daventry sites, including locations with 3-hour, 30-minute and all-day arrangements. Lodge Road Upper Car Park has 4 electric-vehicle charging points, and the charging points are free to use on the Polar Network (westnorthants.gov.uk). Daventry town-centre car parks are therefore useful for both short errands and longer daytime visits, provided the vehicle remains within the displayed restriction.
Finding space in Daventry on busy market and shopping days
The council’s town-centre arrangement covers both short-stay and long-stay car parks, so drivers staying for several hours should look for an all-day site rather than occupying a short-stay bay for longer than permitted (westnorthants.gov.uk).
Daventry Country Park is a separate paid facility, with parking priced at £2 for up to 1 hour, £3 for up to 2 hours, £4 for up to 3 hours, £5 for up to 4 hours and £6 for up to 5 hours (westnorthants.gov.uk). Those rates suit a country-park visit rather than a town-centre errand.
Daventry time limits, permits and Blue Badge exceptions
Free parking remains compliant only when the vehicle follows the restriction shown for its Daventry car park. A 4-hour no-return rule applies to all short-stay car parks, meaning a driver who leaves one short-stay site cannot return to that site or another short-stay site within 4 hours.
The 30-minute short-stay location with postcode NN11 5BX has 20 spaces, including 16 disabled or parent-and-child spaces, and Blue Badge holders are exempt from its maximum-stay period (westnorthants.gov.uk). Permit schemes are different from general free parking: West Northamptonshire Council says designated bays or zones may be used only by vehicles displaying the relevant parking permit. The Welton Road Undercroft Car Park is locked at night, so its access arrangement differs from the council sites listed as open 24 hours.

Daventry parking penalties for overstays and no-return breaches
West Northamptonshire Council states that exceeding a displayed time limit, returning within the 4-hour no-return period or breaking another car-park regulation can result in a Penalty Charge of £50 or £70, depending on the contravention (westnorthants.gov.uk). The amount is therefore linked to the type of parking breach, rather than being a single universal Daventry penalty.
A driver who stays beyond the permitted period or returns too soon risks enforcement even though the parking itself is free. West Northamptonshire Council’s parking service is the authority responsible for its parking permits and parking arrangements, while its Daventry car-park information identifies the £50 and £70 penalty levels for the listed contraventions.

No. A 4-hour no-return rule applies to all short-stay car parks. If you leave one short-stay site, you cannot return to that site or another short-stay site within 4 hours. This restriction applies even though the town-centre parking is free, so drivers should choose an all-day site when staying for several hours (westnorthants.gov.uk).
Are Blue Badge holders exempt from the 30-minute Daventry parking limit?
Blue Badge holders are exempt from the maximum-stay period at the 30-minute short-stay location with postcode NN11 5BX (westnorthants.gov.uk). The amount depends on the type of parking breach, so free parking does not remove the risk of enforcement.
