Dudley Council’s two hours’ free parking applies at all council-owned pay and display car parks from 1 April, making these the clearest general option for a short town-centre visit (councilnews.dudley.gov.uk). The driver must take a physical ticket from the machine and display it clearly in the vehicle. The parking app cannot be used for the free two-hour offer.

These are useful fallback rates when a free visit is too short.

Dudley’s tickets, limited bays and Blue Badge rules
Dudley Council’s free two-hour offer requires a physical machine ticket, and the ticket must be displayed clearly in the vehicle (councilnews.dudley.gov.uk). Dudley Council’s on-street restrictions include limited-waiting rules, while Traffic Regulation Orders create local parking restrictions and the signs determine the applicable limit for a particular street or bay (dudley.gov.uk).
Blue Badge holders may also park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, except during loading or unloading restrictions, and the badge must be displayed face up. These concessions do not apply in bays reserved for permit holders, loading, taxis, cycles or bus stops.
Dudley PCNs and the cost of overstaying
Dudley Council issues a Penalty Charge Notice when its parking restrictions are breached, and payment must be received within 28 days of the issue date (dudley.gov.uk).
Dudley Council provides payment routes for parking fines and allows a recipient to appeal a PCN rather than pay it. The notice reference and instructions identify the permitted payment method, while the council’s parking-fines service sets the 14-day discounted period and the 28-day payment deadline. A driver who believes the PCN was issued incorrectly should use the council’s appeal process within the deadline shown on the notice.
