The Waterfront provides free parking in two car parks, with access to the first car park from Pevensey Bay Road towards Harbour Quay (Eastbourne Waterfront).
Eastbourne town-centre car parks charge from 8am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday, while Sundays are free, and the maximum stay is two hours with no return within two hours (Visit Eastbourne). The Sunday concession suits a short town-centre visit, but the two-hour maximum and no-return rule still apply. Eastbourne Station is free only for Blue Badge holders after registration and correct badge display, so it is not a general free-parking option (APCOA).
Eastbourne Zones and Sunday Rules Decide When a Space Remains Free
Eastbourne permit controls vary by zone. Zones A, G and S operate from 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, except the seafront and Wilmington Square, where controls run Monday to Sunday; Zone M operates from 8am to 6pm, with its own zone-specific restrictions (East Sussex County Council). A space inside a controlled area is therefore not a general free option merely because no payment machine is nearby.
Eastbourne town-centre car parks charge Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10pm and allow free Sunday parking, but the maximum stay is two hours and no return is allowed within two hours (Visit Eastbourne). Blue Badge holders park free at Eastbourne Station only after registering the vehicle through APCOA Blue Badge Portal or APCOA Connect, displaying the badge, and using a standard bay if dedicated disabled bays are occupied; premier bays are excluded (APCOA).
Eastbourne Parking Penalties and How to Deal With a PCN
Eastbourne parking tickets are managed by East Sussex County Council officers for on-street permit and parking-ticket enquiries, while Lewes and Eastbourne councils direct drivers to the council service for ticket payment (Lewes and Eastbourne Council). A PCN reference can also be entered through the Eastbourne e-payment portal, where the reference starts with EBC followed by six numbers (Civica).
East Sussex County Council accepts PCN payment by telephone on 0345 658 5500, using the PCN number and a credit or debit card (East Sussex County Council). The authority's payment instructions require the reference details to be entered accurately.
