Parking Near Filey
Free Parking on Filey Seafront and in the Town Centre
Filey seafront has unrestricted free on-street parking along the front of the cottages, subject to space being available (thebeachfiley.co.uk). This is the clearest option for a driver heading towards the beach, although spaces can disappear quickly on busy coastal days.
The Filey town-centre arrangement allows anyone to use the short-stay bays without paying, provided the vehicle leaves within the permitted stay and does not return during the prohibited interval. West Avenue Car Park offers another useful out-of-season free period because its charges apply only during the published charging season and daytime hours (visitnorthyorkshire.com).
Filey Road Park and Ride for Busy Coastal Days
The Filey Road Park and Ride service has 600 free parking spaces (visitnorthyorkshire.com). The fare paid for the service covers parking and use of the facilities, so the site gives drivers a way to leave the car outside the busiest central streets while continuing by bus. Buses run every 20 minutes, making the site practical when seafront parking has filled.
Filey’s free options are particularly useful for visitors arriving during the busier coastal season, when unrestricted seafront spaces are subject to availability and town-centre bays are limited by short stays. The Filey Road site is a named alternative rather than a town-centre bay, and its parking spaces are free when used with the associated bus service.
