Free Parking Periods at Link Road and Broad Street in Padstow
Link Road car park is the clearest general free option in Padstow outside its charging periods. Cornwall Council lists no charge from midnight to 9am between 1 April and 31 October, and from 4pm to 9am between 1 November and 31 March. The Link Road site is open 24 hours and accepts cars, motorcycles, coaches, trailers and motorhomes, although the free periods do not remove other vehicle restrictions (cornwall.gov.uk).
Broad Street has four disabled parking spaces that are free for blue badge users, with a three-hour limit. The Broad Street spaces are not general free parking for drivers without a badge, and their restriction makes them unsuitable for a long visit. Padstow's free options therefore work best for an early arrival, an evening stop or an overnight departure rather than a full daytime stay.
Padstow’s Free-Period Rules, Permits and Blue Badge Conditions
Link Road car park charges between 9am and 6pm from 1 April to 31 October, then charges between 9am and 4pm from 1 November to 31 March. The Link Road free periods apply only outside those enforcement hours, so arriving during a free period does not create a free all-day stay (cornwall.gov.uk).
Blue Badge holders at Link Road must display a valid badge with the time clock set to the arrival time, and must pay the normal fee unless the vehicle is registered under Cornwall Council's exemption scheme or adapted vehicle scheme. Motorcycles may park free in a designated motorcycle space, or elsewhere in the car park where they cause no obstruction; a motorcycle in a car space must pay the normal car fee. Broad Street disabled spaces remain free for badge holders only and are limited to three hours (cornwall.gov.uk).

Penalty Notices for Overstaying Padstow Parking
A reported Padstow case recorded a £170 fine per vehicle, reduced to £60 when paid immediately, after an alleged 22-minute overstay. The published report concerns a specific enforcement case, so the amount belongs to that notice rather than to every parking mistake in Padstow.
Drivers who receive a notice should use the payment and challenge instructions printed on that notice, because those instructions identify the issuing authority, the deadline and the evidence required for an appeal.
