What to Use When Prestwich’s Free Bays Are Full
Free parking in Prestwich is most pressured around shopping periods and busy village days, when the central council car parks fill before quieter residential locations. Longfield Centre is also affected by construction closures: 46 spaces were due to close between 11 and 15 May 2025, followed by 24 spaces until the new Travel Hub is complete in July 2026 (bury.gov.uk). Drivers heading for the centre should therefore treat Fairfax Road, Brooklands and the smaller council sites as separate options rather than relying on Longfield Centre alone.
