Parking penalties in Sherwood and how the council deals with them
Newark and Sherwood District Council says most parking restrictions have been enforceable by Civil Enforcement Officers since 2008, including restrictions in council pay-and-display car parks and on yellow lines (newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk). The council’s parking places are covered by the NSDC Civil Enforcement Off Street Parking Places Order 2017, which provides the legal framework for its off-street restrictions.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals uses a separate parking enforcement process for motorists who fail to pay the correct hospital tariff or breach hospital car-park terms. The hospital issues a £50 parking charge notice, reduced to £25 when paid within 14 days (sfh-tr.nhs.uk). Hospital visitors can pay or appeal using the instructions printed on the parking charge notice.
