Parking Near Silverstone
Free Parking at Silverstone Museum and on the Village Highway
Silverstone Museum provides free car and coach parking in front of its building, in car park 49, for people visiting the museum (silverstonemuseum.co.uk). This is a visitor facility rather than a general village car park, so it suits a museum visit rather than a day spent elsewhere in Silverstone.
Silverstone Parish Council says Little London was removed from the F1 parking restrictions, allowing residents there to park on the street as they normally do (silverstone-pc.gov.uk). The Parish Council also says the road is a public highway and that the arrangement does not guarantee a space outside a home. That resident context matters: Little London is not presented as a guaranteed general visitor car park.
Winterhills Free Parking for Silverstone Residents During Restrictions
Silverstone Parish Council says the Circuit will provide free parking at a car park close to the village on Winterhills when residents are affected by event parking restrictions (silverstone-pc.gov.uk). The Winterhills arrangement is available from Thursday to Monday and is intended for residents whose usual nearby road parking is restricted. Residents can access their vehicles, although the Parish Council says access may be difficult during busy periods and recommends leaving vehicles there for the weekend where possible.
Winterhills is not a general free option for circuit visitors, guests or bed-and-breakfast customers. The Parish Council describes the scheme as resident-only, requiring verification of a Silverstone Village address and vehicle documentation before authorisation is processed.
Silverstone Event Restrictions and the Resident-Only Winterhills Rules
Silverstone Parish Council says several roads have parking and waiting restrictions during the F1 Grand Prix, with the latest closures and restrictions shown on the Silverstone Circuit Residents Information website (silverstone-pc.gov.uk). WNC Enforcement Officers operate in the village during the stated event period, so a road that is normally usable can become restricted for the event. Little London was excluded from the planned restrictions, but the Parish Council says street space there is not guaranteed.
The Winterhills facility is available only to verified Silverstone Village residents displaced by the restrictions. The Parish Council asks applicants to provide the number of private off-road spaces, vehicles at the property and required spaces, with a V5 for each vehicle registered at the Silverstone Village address. The resident access pass carries a serial number for checking, and the Parish Council states that the pass is not a parking permit. Spaces for B&B or Circuit guests are not provided under this scheme.
Penalty Notices for Restricted Parking in Silverstone
Silverstone Parish Council says failure to follow the F1 parking and waiting restrictions will likely lead to a penalty notice issued by WNC Enforcement Officers operating in the village (silverstone-pc.gov.uk). The Parish Council says it has no authority to revoke those notices.
Authorisation is checked using resident and vehicle details, while access passes are verified by staff during the event weekend. A duplicate or unauthorised pass can be removed and voided.
