Purbeck Park When Swanage Fills During Summer and Regatta Weeks
Swanage Railway warns that parking can be limited during summer and regatta weeks, when free central spaces are especially difficult to secure (swanagerailway.co.uk). Purbeck Park at Norden provides space for 350 vehicles, and its car charge is £4; the charge covers parking only, with onward bus or train travel purchased separately (visit-dorset.com). The site suits drivers willing to leave the car outside Swanage and continue by public transport.
Swanage’s council car parks charge 24 hours, with tickets available from one hour up to 13 hours (visit-dorset.com).
Swanage Excess Charges, Payment and Appeals After an Overstay
Payment can be made by card or cash at the Town Hall on High Street, by bank transfer to Swanage Town Council, or by phone on 01929 423636; the five-digit notice number and vehicle registration must accompany the payment (swanage.gov.uk).
An appeal must be sent to appeals@swanage.gov.uk or posted to the Town Hall within 14 days of the issue date. The appeal must include the ECN number, vehicle registration, full name, reasons and supporting documents. Swanage Town Council says the reduced fee remains valid while an appeal is reviewed, the excess charge will not increase during that review, and paying the ECN closes the case. The council allows up to four weeks to process an appeal (swanage.gov.uk).
